Pregnancy and Chiropractic Care

Here’s a throwback to when I was 37 weeks pregnant, adjusting my 39-week pregnant patient. People were amazed that I was still working with patients at this stage in my pregnancy, and to be honest, I was exactly where I wanted to be—helping people make informed decisions about their health and wellness and reach their goals.

Health is your most vital asset through all life stages, and it can be deeply challenged when you are pregnant. Rest assured, you don’t have to be resigned to the aches and pains of pregnancy. Chiropractors are an excellent resource for taking care of your nervous system (brain and spinal cord), the master controller of all of your body’s systems. Throughout pregnancy and preparing for birth is a crucial time to get evaluated by a Chiropractor.

As the baby grows and develops, more stress and strain is placed on the pregnant persons’ ligaments and joints within the spine and pelvis. Naturally, a pregnant persons’ posture will change to accommodate the growing baby. These postural changes create more stress on the nervous system, affecting the expectant persons’ overall function. Nervous system tension within the spine and pelvis may cause restrictions in the baby’s ability to get into the ideal position for optimal growth and birth. By supporting the nervous system with Chiropractic care, you ensure that your system is adaptive and functioning optimally while continuing to grow your baby and prepare for birth.

If you’re preparing for birth, have faith that we have descended from a long line of birthing women. The Websters Technique is a Chiropractic evaluation and adjustment specific to a pregnant person to restore balance to the spine and pelvis.
